‘The Romans in Oberammergau’
Guided tour of the Roman and Raeti exhibits in the Oberammergau Museum and a walk to the Döttenbichl excavation site (120 mins)
Welcome to our Early History exhibition where you can see the original finds from Döttenbichl. In addition to local sacrificial gifts dating from between the end of the 2nd century BC and the middle of the 1st century AD, such as jewellery, tools and agricultural implements, the display also includes metal objects from the Roman soldiers. Join us afterwards on a walk to the main excavation site – the spot sacrifices were made by the Rhaetian people. The path back to village is along Grottenweg with its mysterious rock engravings.
